What is mind/body-oriented psychotherapy?
Mind/body-oriented psychotherapy recognizes and prioritizes the importance of one’s relationship to their body and internal experience in discovering a path to healing. This type of therapy supports increasing connection to and awareness of the body’s sensations as they relate to both the present moment and past emotional experiences. In sessions, we explore the nervous system and the ways in which the body holds onto stress, grief, trauma and fear. This process helps to uncover what beliefs we have about ourselves and how the mind may be holding us back from experiencing more of a sense of wholeness, contentment and pleasure in everyday life.
